Michele joined SeniorLAW Center in August of 2005 and now serves as the supervising attorney of Philadelphia’s first Landlord/Tenant Legal Help Center, launched in January 2012, a court-based collaborative project coordinated by SeniorLAW Center to serve unrepresented low-income tenants of all ages. Working with court leadership and legal service, pro bono and law school partners, the new Help Center provides legal information, advice, limited representation, and referrals to tenants facing eviction and other legal problems in an accessible court-based setting. Michele leads this exciting project and is responsible for providing direct services, outreach, and education, training and supervising volunteer attorneys and law students, and developing awareness and resources. Michele is from Philadelphia and graduated from Penn State University. She earned her JD from the Washington College of Law in 1984. Prior to joining SeniorLAW, Michele worked in private practice focusing on litigation matters. She has also been involved in many volunteer organizations including the American Red Cross, the Volunteers for the Indigent Program and Eldernet of Lower Merion and Narberth.
