SeniorLAW Center’s Staff Attorneys Presented at Recent PCA Regional Conference for Aging

pcahousing11On October 19, 2015, SeniorLAW Center attorneys Cateria McCabe, Susanna Ratner, and Beth Shay presented at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s 2015 Regional Conference on Aging on “How to Resolve Vital Housing Issues to Prevent Senior Homelessness.” This interactive session taught 80 professionals (including social workers and legal professionals) from the Philadelphia region how to address vital housing issues faced by senior homeowners and tenants, and covered property tax and mortgage delinquencies, reverse mortgages, and tips to prevent foreclosure and eviction.

Several of SeniorLAW Center’s flyers and handouts were made available to help educate the professionals on the housing crisis for seniors in Pennsylvania and how our work changes this.  Our Reverse Mortgage fact sheet, for example, provides a quick check point for seniors to help know and protect their rights.
