Sophia Polites joined SeniorLAW’s staff in March, 2017, as a Staff Attorney providing emergency legal services to senior victims of elder abuse and financial exploitation. Sophia is part of SeniorLAW Center’s Victims Services team and focuses her efforts in Montgomery and Bucks Counties and will be located in Norristown in SeniorLAW Center’s first office outside Philadelphia. Funded by a federal grant pursuant to the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), Sophia provides direct services to senior victims of financial abuse to ensure that the exploitation is stopped and advocates for victims in civil court to recover stolen funds and property when possible. She will also provide trainings, outreaches and advocacy efforts on behalf of seniors in these 2 counties.
Prior to joining SeniorLAW, Sophia worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. There, Sophia was assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit where she handled sexual assault cases involving adult victims, as well as child sexual and physical abuse. Sophia has a passion for advocating on behalf of victims and that passion led Sophia to SeniorLAW. Sophia graduated from Temple University in 2007and Rutgers Law School in 2011.
