Help is Still Available for Homeowners and Renters Impacted by COVID-19: Deadline is Nov.4th!

New rules allow landlords and lenders statewide to work with renters and homeowners to arrange payments above the assistance that had been allowed under the rent relief and mortgage relief programs. The deadline to apply is November 4, 2020. Apply now if you may qualify. Get help from a housing counselor to complete the online application by calling Save Your Home Philly Hotline at 215-334-4663.

To Qualify-
You or someone in your household has become unemployed after March 1, 2020 or your income has gone down at least 30% because of COVID,  If you are a renter you meet income level requirements which can be checked at: https://www.phfa.org/forms/pacares/rental/RRP-County-Income-Limits.pdf

You are at least thirty days past-due on your rent payment,
Or you are a homeowner and you need help with a first or second lien on your home

The Process-
The deadline to submit a complete application is November 4, 2020 (original deadline extended from September 30, 2020). Apply for mortgage assistance online at https://pmap.phfa.org/ or by mail to P.O. Box 15530, Harrisburg, PA 17105-5530.
Rental assistance applications are managed by each Pennsylvania county. In Philadelphia, apply online at https://phlrentassist.org/. Statewide forms and links to each county’s instructions are at https://phfa.org/pacares/rent.aspx.

Benefits-
If you are a renter under the new rules your landlord can work with you to arrange payments for any monthly rent still owed above assistance provided by the Rent Relief Program. Assistance of up to $750 per month is available statewide. Up to $1500 per month is now available in Philadelphia. Additional money is also available in Allegheny County.

If you are a homeowner under the new rules your lender can work with you to arrange payment for any portion of the monthly mortgage still owed above the $1,000 assistance provided by the Pandemic Mortgage Assistance Program. You may be eligible to receive up to possibly $1,000 a month for a maximum of $6,000.
