The “Fighting Contractor Fraud” partnership between SeniorLAW Center and Pepper Hamilton has recorded another victory, this time for a 69-year-old senior living on $540 per month. This unfortunate homeowner paid $2545 cash for a new rubber roof with a 20-year guarantee. Leaks from the “new” roof began almost immediately, making the upstairs hallway of his home unlivable. When senior’s calls to the contractor went unanswered, he turned to SeniorLAW Center for help. We referred the case to Pepper Hamilton attorney Matt Chiachetti, who investigated and discovered significant problems with the roof. Matt detailed the problems in a letter to the contractor and convinced him to return to the home and install a completely new roof which stopped the leaking.
