This award, presented to an outstanding organization each year, recognizes an exceptional partner whose efforts have significantly promoted our important mission of protecting the rights of older Pennsylvanians.
SeniorLAW Center is extremely proud of our enduring partnership with Fox Rothschild. The excellent leadership of the inspiring Ron Shaffer, our immediate past Board Chair, had a powerful impact on our organization, resources and relationships with the legal community. Ron served many essential leadership roles for SeniorLAW Center over the past many years, as Board Chair, Gala Chair with his wife Debbie in 2014, major fundraiser, ambassador and champion. Ron took leadership seriously and joined our Executive Director in the intense Board Leadership Institute sponsored by Philadelphia Foundation and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey to develop best practices in board development, communications, finance and outcome measurement. Ron has also devoted time to personally serving our senior clients as a pro bono volunteer attorney providing legal advice, information and guidance for seniors throughout Pennsylvania through our statewide SeniorLAW HelpLine.
SeniorLAW Center is proud also to have worked in partnership with the firm’s Co-Chair and former Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association Abe Reich to promote access to justice through Public Interest Law Day and other CLE presentations with the courts and law schools, and with Congressman, Iraq War veteran and MSNBC host Patrick Murphy to serve senior veterans and raise visibility about their service, contributions and the plight of those who are homeless and facing poverty. Patrick joins us again as Master of Ceremonies at our 2015 Gala as we honor remarkable seniors who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities. The firm’s leadership has been stellar and strong in its financial support, generosity in sharing of staff time and facilities, expertise in communications, marketing and graphic design, and in promoting volunteer pro bono efforts for Pennsylvania seniors, particularly the poor.
The award will be presented at SeniorLAW Center’s 2015 Gala on May 14th at the Crystal Tea Room. Please join us to honor this outstanding firm and their commitment to serving seniors and pursuing justice.
