SeniorLAW Center is proud to be presenting at the 2018 Regional Conference on Aging, hosted by the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA). The conference will be held at PCA’s offices: 642 North Broad St. in Philadelphia, Wednesday September 26 – Friday September 28. The conference will feature 30 workshops over three days centered on clinical programs, public policy issues and resources for professionals who work with older adults. Staff Attorney Leah Finlayson, Esq. and HelpLine Coordinator Joanna Jarzebowska, Esq. will be discussing the warning signs of exploitation, prevention and response options, and the legal tools necessary for seniors to protect their health care and financial decision-making autonomy. Cateria R. McCabe, Esq., Director, Veterans, Kinship Care & Tenant Rights, and Elizabeth P. Shay, Esq., Director of Homeowners Rights, will be presenting on home ownership and tenant issues for seniors. Topics will include property tax diversion court, reverse mortgage problems, updates on mortgage loan modifications, lease signing, and landlord/tenant court.
