SeniorLAW Center joins national advocates in seeking to ban disconnections of Lifeline

March 2020 Covid-19 Emergency Lifeline Letter

Lifeline is a program that offers subsidies to low income people to obtain access to telephone and Internet services. Given the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis and the need for access to affordable telephone and internet service, public interest organizations are requesting the Federal Communications Commission:

1) immediately prohibit disconnections of Lifeline consumers;

2) require Lifeline providers to offer unlimited voice minutes and unlimited texting; and

3) create an emergency Lifeline broadband benefit.

Please continue to join us in advocating and seeking justice for older and vulnerable populations during this crisis.
