WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?

I am a retired trademark attorney who focused my 40 year career on trademark and copyright law and unfair competition law.

WHY ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH SENIORLAW CENTER?

There is a present and growing need to provide quality legal services to underserved populations, particularly those with additional hurdles to secure access to justice and notably the elderly who are disproportionately challenged by poverty, ill-health, lack of access to transportation, and who bear added burdens in navigating an increasingly complex system of agencies. I have seen these issues play out in my own family and in the families of others I know.

HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR BOARD MEMBERSHIP / LEADERSHIP?

Serving as co-chair of the 2017 Gala was one highlight of my board membership; the other is the ability to help support the work that SeniorLAW Center does on a daily basis. I currently serve as the Co-Chair for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for SeniorLAW Center. I am involved in the execution of the Strategic Plan we have adopted and particularly the communications piece of that Plan.

WHY DO YOU THINK OTHERS SHOULD SUPPORT SENIORLAW CENTER?

Others should support SeniorLAW Center because there is no other agency that focuses expressly on access to justice for seniors in PA. There are many other good organizations that provide programs that benefit seniors, among others, and there is CARIE which does focus on the elderly, but the focus of these is not on the legal services that help keep seniors in their homes, and assisted in countering financial exploitation.

I work to bring to my board service my experience in other non-profits, my 40 plus years as a working attorney with some focus on marketing and communication issues.
