WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?
Corporate environmental, Health and Safety legal practitioner
WHY ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH SENIORLAW CENTER?
I believe that every attorney has an obligation to perform pro bono legal work. Seniors in Pennsylvania have an acute and on-going need for legal services. I receive far more in return for my pro bono work than I give.
HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR BOARD MEMBERSHIP / LEADERSHIP?
Establishment of a sustainable partnership between Exelon (and its local subsidiary, PECO) and the Senior Law Center. I view it as the prototypical partnership between a legal services organization and a corporate legal department in the Philadelphia area.
OTHER WAYS YOU SERVE AS A VOLUNTEER FOR SLC?
Volunteer attorney – Life Planning Clinics and MLK Day. Host the annual Hispanic elder clinic staffed by PECO attorneys and members of PECO’s Hispanic employee association (OLE’).
WHY DO YOU THINK OTHERS SHOULD SUPPORT SENIORLAW CENTER?
The need is great and the organization makes a huge difference. The budget is managed carefully so that donations yield the maximum benefit. Charismatic Executive Director and a dedicated and hardworking staff.
OTHER LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AND WAYS YOU GIVE BACK?
Perform legal services for other pro bono organizations in the Philadelphia Area – Volunteers for the Indigent, Homeless Advocacy Project, and immigration legal service providers – HIAS, Esperanza and the Nationalities Services Center.
