Judith B. Neale is a Grassroots Lobbyist in Health and Aging Issues, and Advocate for the Elderly and Disabled. She works in Health and Aging Policy, as a Geriatric Care Manager and as Executive Director of Senior Care Cooperative and Intergenerational NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community), headquartered in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. She has worked in the field of Healthcare and Aging for 35 years and has experience from both the professional side and the personal side. Judy was a caregiver for her husband for 18 years.
Judith’s background is both Legal and Health related. She was one of the first paralegals in Philadelphia working in the area of Estates and Trusts and the first Health Care paralegal. Judy was a 1995 Pennsylvania Delegate to the White House Conference on Aging and a 1992 Candidate for White House Fellow. She has presented before the National Conference on Law and Aging, numerous other professional groups as well as speaking to many consumer groups. She writes for the Health and Aging Network of the American Society on Aging and is a member of the Editorial Board.
Judith works in all issues of Aging including Social Security, Medicare, Home Care, Long Term Care, Delivery of Services and development of NORCs.
Judith joined the Board of Directors of Judicare/SeniorLAW Center in 1993 and worked in areas of Legislation, Policy and services to the Homebound elderly. She proudly served as a Board Member for 16 years (with a mandated 1-year hiatus per by-law requirements) and was and continues to be an important and valued advisor to the Judicare/SeniorLAW Center staff on programs, outreach and advocacy initiatives. Judy has generously shared her broad experience, expertise and contacts in the areas of health and aging to make SeniorLAW Center stronger and wiser.
Judith serves on the Board of Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society and Swarthmore Senior Citizens Association. She works with Jefferson Center for Applied Research in Aging and Health, Jefferson School of Population Health, Penn Homecare and Hospice, the Alliance for Health Reform, WHYY Caring Community Coalition and the Temple Center for Intergenerational Learning.
