SeniorLAW Center is honored to be presenting at the 2018 National Law and Aging Conference taking place October 25-26, 2018 in Alexandria, VA. Karen C. Buck, Esq., Executive Director will present on Court-Based Access to Justice Programs for Older Americans” with President Judge Sheila Woods-Skipper (Philadelphia Co.) and President Judge George Zanic (Huntingdon County). Karen and Cateria R. McCabe, Esq., Director, Veterans, Kinship Care and Tenant Rights will present a workshop with Rochelle Bobroff, Pro Bono Director of the National Veterans Legal Services Project, and Rebekah Mason, AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly in Washington, D.C., entitled “Serving the Needs of Older Veterans.” Wendy E. Bookler, Esq., Legal Director, will be co-presenting on partnerships with Pennsylvania’s Legal Assistance Developer, Deborah Hargett-Robinson along with Sarah Galvan and Fay Gordon from Justice in Aging for a panel focused on how to “Build Your Elder Law Program with Skills and Smart Partnerships.” Nora Dowd Eisenhower, Director of the SeniorLAW Center/AARP Systemic Advocacy Pro Bono Project and Linda Popejoy, from AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly are presenting on: “Community Impact thru Pro Bono,” sharing how our two senior legal services organizations have tapped the pro bono community to partner on systemic advocacy to expand their community impact in Pennsylvania.
