SeniorLAW Center and our clients presented testimony to the Finance Committee of City Council on the impact of Reverse Mortgage lending and foreclosures upon Philadelphia seniors. The sponsor of the Resolution was Councilwoman Cherelle Parker. The Councilwoman has promised to schedule further hearings to investigate ways the City can work with mortgage lenders, legal services agencies, housing counseling agencies and government regulators to protect Seniors from losing their homes due to reverse mortgage foreclosure.
