SeniorLAW Center’s Wendy Bookler | Featured Panelist at Montgomery County Elder Access to Justice Roundtable Conference

On Friday June 12th SeniorLAW Center participated in the Montgomery County Elder Access to Justice Roundtable Conference Dealing with Cognitive Decline: Competency and the Risk for Elder Abuse. SeniorLAW Center’s own Wendy Bookler was a guest panelist and is seen with keynote speaker Jason Karlawish, M.D. Professor of Medicine, Medical Ethics and Health Policy at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The conference was attended by 150 Montgomery County professionals who interact with older adults to identify and address elder abuse, neglect and exploitation by evaluating how our systems work, discussing problems, enhancing communication and improving access to justice. Other speakers included District Attorney of Montgomery County Risa Vetri Furman. representatives from law enforcement, prosecutors, defenders, Courts, the health care system, community advocates, long term care facilities, clergy & other community stakeholders. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is Monday June 15, 2015.
