Beginning August 27th, 2012 – PA voters who do not have the required documentation to vote can apply at the DMV for a Department of Justice “voter id only” card. This is mainly for those who were born outside of PA and have no birth certificate documentation.
For Pennsylvania-born voters, PennDOT will still use the process of confirming birth records electronically with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to issue non-driver’s license photo IDs for voting.
