On Wednesday June 10, 2015 Beth Shay, Coordinator of the SeniorLAW Center’s Homeowner’s Assistance Program, testified before the Finance Committee of the Philadelphia City Council and acknowledged the City’s first time grant to SLC to conduct a triage program for seniors in the Philadelphia Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion court. Attorney Shay coupled her acknowledgement with a plea for increased funding for legal services for low income seniors, especially those senior needing legal assistance in order to obtain record ownership of their homes and qualify for City benefits.
