SeniorLAW Center’s Cateria R. McCabe, Esq. presents at the 4th Biennial Kinship Conference

Cateria R. McCabe, Esq. SeniorLAW Center’s Director, Veterans, Kinship Care & Tenants Rights, was pleased to partner with DHS, Turning Points for Children, the Support Center for Child Advocates, and other organizations and leaders serving kinship caregivers at the 4th Biennial Kinship Conference to recognize the contribution of grandparents and others relatives raising children who are kin when birth parents cannot and providing vital information for them and the children in their care. Cateria provided vital legal information and presentations on Custody and the Law at the Conference, with Barry Kassel of the Support Center. During the two sessions, participants learned about custody law in Pennsylvania, custody terms and definitions, the Family Court process in Domestic Relations as well as the Dependency divisions and resources available to kinship caregivers. She also informed conference participants about the legal services, community education and advocacy provided by SeniorLAW Center to help  grandparents and other kinship caregivers. Kids thrive in kinship care.  We are proud to serve those who care for kids at risk, keeping them in loving homes of kin and out of traditional foster care.  For more information about our work in Kinship, click here.
